Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT)
Who is QHHT for?
Having a feeling that you are stuck and everything in your life repeats…
You want to change your lifestyle, your career, but you don’t know How and What…
Having relationship problems…
Having a feeling of separateness, like you don’t belong here on earth…
You don’t understand your existence and purpose, having a feeling that you lost your identity and don’t know ”Who you are any more…
Having a sick body, sleepless nights, anxiety, depression, and you feel tired from all of it. One of your parts deep inside knows that there must be an explanation, must be the way out into the light…
Feeling like childhood trauma is ready to be released and healed but you are not sure how to let it go and move to acceptance, forgiveness and compassion…
How Does It Work?
Sessions must be held in person; it is important that I am there with you physically in order to safeguard the entry and exit into the hypnotic state.
Sessions are held either in your own home, or in a quiet room in a local natural healing centre (Tavistock). The first part is a discussion of your life history and what is going on for you currently, this takes as long as it takes. The hypnosis itself takes up to 2+hrs. Then we spend a little while going over what came up for you in the session.
The sessions are recorded, and I send you a link to download and save your file after the session. When people are under hypnosis, they usually don’t remember everything they said. It is very helpful and healing to listen back to the session multiple times in order to gain personal insight.
What do I need to know before attending my session?
The evening before your session would be helpful if you would be relaxed. Listen to relaxing healing music always helps to let go and relax.
NO ALCOHOL consumption the night before the session.
Usually, we start a session at 10am, and we finish around 4pm.
After the session, you will probably feel a little quiet, and reflection is needed in the evening before heading to bed early. I always recommend keeping the evening after your session free of all social events or work.
Next day after your session, you might feel reflective and emotional, its best to keep your working dairy free as much as possible that day also.
Keep in mind that we concentrate working on shifting one or two emotions during the session. If you have more emotional feelings and you have never done deep inner work before, then you might need more QHHT sessions with the 3-5 weeks brake.
Will I remember the hypnosis part?
Some may have some awareness during the session, and some even feel they remember everything, but don’t worry if you think you won’t remember it all, I will record your session and email you a copy. Listening to your recording often is a very important part of the QHHT experience. We find the information is absorbed on several consciousness levels, some are understood immediately, some will gradually bubble up and work its magic over the days, weeks months and sometimes years after your session.
Who Is This For?
Anyone who has long-standing physical issues that they have been unable to find solutions for.
Anyone who is curious to learn more about their past lives.
Anyone who is wanting to uncover their deeper purpose in life.
Anyone who feels a cosmic connection to other star systems and is curious to explore that connection.
Anyone who simply has a curiosity about the nature of the soul and its journey.
Who does the healing?
Your higher consciousness knows what it wants to say or do in order to bring to you exactly what you need in the very best and safe way for you to receive it.
You will be given understanding by your spirit on how to support and maintain your healing journey. You will need to listen to your recording every night until your mind allows the change to happen.
The great part of this therapy is that this isn’t me healing you. This is your higher consciousness telling and showing you (your conscious self) why things are the way they are and how to move forward in your life in the highest and greatest way.
How long does the session last?
QHHT sessions last a minimum of four to six hours. This time includes an interview, the hypnosis experience and time afterwards to discuss your session.
Do I need a consultation before my QHHT session?
Each QHHT Practitioner works differently. My answer to this question is ‘Yes’. I like to meet you, for us to gain a good rapport; trust and a feeling of ease and I also undertake a short relaxation hypnotherapy section to enable you to see how you will feel. At the end of the session, collectively, this will allow you to make a personal choice if I am the right QHHT Practitioner to guide you on this wonderful journey to optimum wholeness.
What happens if I am shown a traumatic or painful death? Will I feel the pain?
The answer is that you will not feel any physical pain whatsoever, but you may well be aware, albeit very briefly, of some emotional discomfort in your body. This will pass immediately when I direct you to either move on or ask you if you wish to be an observer, to which you will only watch the event from the side-lines. Many choose to do the latter.
I’m scared of dying. If you take me through the death process, will it make the fear worse?
The simple answer is no! In fact, the exact opposite. Once clients go through the transition process and become aware of how light and free they feel once they rise out of the physical body, and then have the experience of being drawn into the Light, their old fear of dying completely vanishes!
I then request that the client’s Higher Self speaks with me and answers questions; these are the client’s questions that they want answers to and the issues they want to resolve. I also ask the Higher Self to undertake a body scan to determine what, if any, physical healing is needed. These requests are rarely refused.

Hypnotherapy
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state that we all experience at various times and in various depths throughout the day. The experience of hypnosis has been described in many ways but is often explained as a streamlined state of focused attention. Many people describe hypnosis as feeling similar to daydreaming, when they are neither fully alert, nor asleep. Everyone’s experiences and therefore descriptions of hypnosis will vary because all trance states feel different to different people. Hypnosis is usually associated with a pleasant feeling of deep relaxation, and this can be part of the therapy, however not all hypnosis nor Hypnotherapy involves relaxation in the traditional sense.
I will use a combination of hypnosis and talking therapy to bring about changes in your thoughts, feelings and behaviours at a deeper than conscious level; the subconscious level, where we automatically respond. The beliefs we all hold about ourselves (positive or negative) are stored within our subconscious mind, as are many of our behaviours, patterns and habits. These behaviours can be protective and useful, but where they are unhelpful, you might want to work with a me because you want to change those deep-rooted, automatic responses and cannot access these alone.
During hypnosis insight can be gained through a new perspective and adjustments can be made to limiting beliefs that have influenced or directed your life, sometimes resulting in radical change or gentle differences that increase positively over time.
Therapeutic techniques applied during hypnosis are usually quicker than the traditional forms of psychotherapy or counselling due to accessing the subconscious, consequently hypnotherapy is becoming increasingly popular.
What if I can't be hypnotised?
If you’ve ever really got stuck into a film or TV series, daydreamed while driving / walking, or found yourself eating in autopilot – you can be hypnotised, because those things are all a form of hypnosis / trance. To put your mind at ease, we undertake a relaxation session during your initial consultation to make sure you’re able to achieve the level of hypnosis you need in order to begin getting those results.
If I’m hypnotised, do I give up control?
No. Hypnosis is a streamlined state of focused attention, similar to when you are absorbed in a book, a film a sport or a craft. You have the ability to emerge from hypnosis at any time if you wish. I could be described as a guide taking you on a journey; I am the facilitator but any change can only be made by you. Realising that you are in control and can make changes yourself can be very empowering.
The more often you choose to go into hypnosis the easier it is to relax into the process, secure in the knowledge that you remain in control and can end a session of hypnosis at any point should you wish to. As most people find hypnosis deeply relaxing and a very pleasant experience, they rarely choose to do this, but they are aware that they could if they so choose.
How does hypnosis feel?
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind similar to daydreaming. People are often surprised that they can hear what is being said and can move or speak if they want to. Everybody’s experience of it is different and how an individual feels may vary each time they go into hypnosis. Some people describe hearing every word I say, while others find their mind wanders; many people lose track of time when they are in hypnosis. How aware or unaware you are during the process is unimportant and does not affect the efficacy of the session. Relaxation isn’t essential to hypnosis, but most people describe being very relaxed during and after the session and more enjoyable than they expected.
What else can hypnosis help with?

What if you make me eat a raw onion or dance like a chicken?
Despite the entertaining acts that stage hypnosis is famous for, it’s mostly an illusion and not in any way a reflection of hypnotherapy. In fact, there is nothing that I can make you do or say that you don’t want to do. You have complete control the entire time, which is why it’s important that you show up to our sessions willing to make this change.
I'm currently receiving another type of therapy. Will this still work?
Absolutely! Hypnotherapy is very complimentary alongside other talking therapies such as CBT and counselling. There is some research that says it can even enhance the results alongside other modalities.
I'm currently taking medication for my mental health. Will hypnotherapy still work?
Again, absolutely! Providing you don’t have a diagnosis of psychosis, epilepsy or schizophrenia, hypnotherapy is an extremely safe and effective treatment alongside medication.
How long are each of the sessions?
Each of the sessions is unique and I do not give a time limit.
Past Life Regression
I am interested in past life regressions. How do they affect one’s present life, and how do I understand the bigger picture?
The present life you are living is but a chapter in the novel that is you. All your experiences contribute to the outcome of the reincarnation cycles. Why would a soul not want all the information possible? Each action and reaction in the linear determine the roughness or smoothness of the path.
Knowledge is power, as it is said in the physical world.
How does the memory work?
Active memory is only a small part of our normal consciousness, and that our unconscious memory registers and preserves every past impression and experience which our waking mind fails to recall.
Past life regression is a very safe, gentle, and natural process. The unconscious mind, where past life memories reside, is selective in what it releases to the conscious mind: it will allow the person to go as deeply and as far as they need to go.
I’m nervous and even a little fearful of what might happen if I can’t handle what I see. Can you handle this?
As I often say to my first-time clients, “I don’t set any agenda, and your conscious mind doesn’t set any agenda; your subconscious mind sets the agenda.” My observation is that people rarely get violent or horrible memories when they first have past life regressions. The unconscious mind will only send us past life memories that we are ready to deal with and are able to integrate into our conscious personality structure. Those who have little experience of therapy or meditation more often start gently. The first past life memories that come tend to be more benign. Beginners not subject to pressure or neurosis are usually shown other selves from the past that can be more easily assimilated and dealt with.
It is very much like watching a movie, though when you go deep enough, you feel everything, it is however not a frightening experience at all, no matter what you encounter. Recall can sometimes be painful and accompanied by tears and fear, but the mind always knows how to handle whatever is revealed and is aware of the experience on two levels: the connection with the present and the presence of the therapist, as well as the scenario going in the mind as it recalls some event in the past. In another word, you are here, and you are there simultaneously.
How does my subconscious mind work?
In every life, you are born with a new body and a new brain, which serves the purpose of allowing you to function in the physical world. Your subconscious awareness, which contains the knowledge of your soul, is incorporated within your new physical body, with all your accompanying past-life memories. Your body and brain, and your mind and knowledge, are both similar to a computer. Your body and your conscious brain, known as Beta, are the outer covering and circuitry of the computer. Your subconscious mind, known as Alpha, is the program disk containing the knowledge that powers the computer. Your body and brain form the shell and the system that receives the inner knowledge of your soul. Your subconscious mind powers and programs the experiences of your present life.
Remembering your past lives is like searching the subconscious programming disk. The information is there, but retrieving the file requires the appropriate computer code. Your mind has a unique filtering mechanism that allows you to remember only what is relevant or important to your present life, based on present circumstances.
During Past-Life Regression, what comes up in my awareness, is it real or is it imagination?
Let’s do this experiment: either with your eyes open or closed, right now, can you bring up an image, say, of your best friend? Okay, now you have it, could you find ways to change this best friend’s hairstyle? And maybe see if you can put a pair of glasses to that face? Or take the glasses off the face? Fairly easy?
Now, in a Past-Life Regression, if I am to do the same thing of changing hairstyle and putting eye glasses to the face of someone, a client will normally say, “No. That’s not the way it is!” That’s the short answer to the question of knowing what’s real or what’s imagination.
The following is a longer answer, as this is my favourite topic – “imagination v reality”. I’m going to spend some time talking about it.
Imagination is supposed to be something that isn’t real, and reality is supposed to be something that is real. It’s a commonly held belief that reality is what you experience in your day-to-day life. Imagination is what you experience in your thoughts. However, there’s a widely accepted philosophy, though you may not know, if so I’m glad to be the first person to shock you, that reality is what you can’t see, and imagination is what you can see. Stay with me and just use your imagination for a few moments and you may begin to see the truth in imagination and the fallacy in fact.
Suppose what you imagine on the inside, with your thoughts, turns into what you experience in your day-to-day life. When this occurs, which is real — your previous thoughts that have turned into reality, or the previous reality that has turned into illusion, because it’s no longer the reality. Fine, you may drag me out and point to me what you see, the trees, the hunger in the world, the wars, the economy they are all reality, because you can see them. It’s true they are ‘Your’ reality if you choose to because they were first somebody else’s imagination.
What you believe to be true on the inside is the real part of your reality. Your beliefs about reality determine what you experience in your life. With this premise, perhaps reality is only an illusion, and imagination is the true reality. This concept can actually empower you, because it can help you determine how you perceive your experiences and how you create your present reality, as well as helping you to open up and accept the past-life memories you feel are true.
In hypnosis when your past-life memories open and are experienced by you, the underlying basis in what you experience is your belief. Because your beliefs create what you experience, they also influence whether the memories that surface are made-up memories or the real thing. You can feel the difference between fantasies and facts. Trust your feelings.
Your past-life memories and the corresponding images are given to you by your subconscious mind. You already know the truth and you have the answers within. By trusting your inner images, you’re able to open another doorway into your past lives. Your imagination can show you what’s inside your subconscious mind, without all the judgements and restrictions that belong to conscious denial. By allowing your imagination to open up the real world for you, you’ll find that what you originally thought of as fantasy is, in truth, the fact.

Can everyone be successfully regressed?
Everyone has the capacity to be successfully regressed; however, it may take some more sessions for some people than others, due to level of development, trust, and readiness. This therapy may not be effective for a client if they function solely on an intellectual level and do not have the capability for introspection. Past life therapy is not appropriate for individuals who have lost touch with their emotions.
Sometimes a client may not be able to relax the conscious mind and may remain focused on being present in the room. Sometimes a client may not be able to tune into one past life instead images from various past lives come and go. It is possible a client may need some time to build up trust for the therapeutic process in order to allow unconscious material to arise.
Our own strong expectations and desire to relive a past life can get in our way. We may want it so much that we try to force the process and, paradoxically, we block it. However, with practice we can overcome any such obstacles. It is important to practice without any frustration and without any attachment to the outcome of a particular session. Don’t say, “I have to have a regression,” for that will only prevent it from happening. There is no need to put this kind of pressure on yourself. Just accept whatever comes to your mind. There is a process and a wisdom at work. When you trust it, it will guide you to wherever it is that you need to go.
Traumatic situations of suffering or violent past life deaths may block past life memories. When this occurs, there may be a higher wisdom at work. The client may need to do more internal work before they are ready to address these memories.
Do you use Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a form of focused awareness. It is necessary for you to focus inward to access your past life memories – or any distant memories for that matter. So, yes, you will be hypnotised. But it is a surprisingly light trance state. In this state you can still be aware that you are reclining in a chair, or lying on a couch or bed, that a bird is chirping outside, or an airplane is flying overhead, while at the same time you are completely engrossed in the past life memory.
To help you focus inward, I encourage you to focus on the rhythm of your breathing while relaxing your entire body. By focusing on your breathing, you fall gently into a light trance state. So, in a sense, you don’t go “under” hypnosis, you are simply relaxing. As you relax, I encourage you to be aware of your inner images, feelings, and physical sensations.
I then have you focus on a particularly charged thought or feeling, which is often the reason why you wanted to do a regression in the first place, or something we uncovered in the interview. For example, if a dominant theme in your life is the fear of being alone, I direct you to focus on the thought and the feeling, “I’m all alone.” This serves as a bridge from your present feelings to a relevant past life memory.
Some past life memories are of happy and fulfilling lives. These benign lifetimes help us understand and appreciate our present positive attitudes, talents, and good relationships. They are life’s gifts.
Most memories that surface in past life therapy are of past life trauma, usually a traumatic death. It is the past life trauma that continues to affect us emotionally, mentally, and physically, causing difficulties in many aspects of our present life. By exposing these painful memories to the light of awareness and understanding the context of the past life and death, the emotional intensity loses its grip. We can finally let go of the past and move forward in our lives. We feel lighter, as if a burden has been lifted. This is the heart of the work: to heal the deepest part of us, our soul. You will not get “stuck” in these traumatic memories. I am there to guide you through the experience so you can get the full benefit of the process. Sometimes the healing is immediate and dramatic or can be more subtle and noticeable over time.
After the regression, you will remember everything you experienced. Over time, new layers of insight and understanding emerge spontaneously. I also digitally record the session and email it to you.
What results can I expect from my session?
Many different things can come out of a session. Re-experiencing and processing a past life memory might help you understand and resolve current relationships, begin to untangle emotional problems including phobias and compulsions, and even heal physical symptoms. It might explain mysteries in your life and give you a greater sense of peace. Perhaps the greatest benefit is experiencing yourself as a soul who has lived before and will live again. Really knowing this can give you a different perspective, perhaps a little more objectivity, and a context for your present life, and diminish your fear of death.
I cannot say what will happen in your session, but any or all of these benefits are possible, based on what I’ve seen from my own regression experience and from the many clients I’ve worked with.
Do you do regressions with children?
No. I’ve found that regressions with children under the age of 16 are not appropriate or effective (with rare exceptions). I normally only regress clients who are 18 and over.
Break the Linear Mindset:
Many grow up with the belief that life is like a straightforward timeline, always moving forward and learning as we go and age. Part of this is true… however, not entirely though. You may have been a hero in one lifetime, or you may have been addicted to something in another. The linear belief is unfair. However, the universe gives us what we need to learn the right lessons and reach expansion in our souls. No lesson is greater than another; all lessons lead toward compassion, growth, and enlightenment.
You May Not Have Even Been Human:
Prepare yourself. Yes, it may not be a common thing, however some have found themselves in past lives, looking down at their body, to be not human, and not on earth. If you are not expecting it, it can be a bit freaky, but otherwise fun.
Parallel Lives:
When given the suggestion, “Let’s take you back to a past life that’s affecting you today,” 1 in 5 may go to a life they currently live in another body and another part of the country… By healing that issue you are helping both lives, and perhaps more parallel lives as well. You do not have to believe in concepts such as reincarnation at all to feel this effect. To go further and think you may actually be living more than one life at a time may open up in you a whole new fascinating understanding of the world.
The Best Lesson from a Regression Takes Time:
As mentioned before, you may have been addicted to something in a past life. This doesn’t mean you as the voyager on your regression are addicted to something now, nor does it mean that you will be in the next life. All this means is there is a reason you recounted this particular past, and a reason why you are being shown that information; ultimately it presents the possibility of healing from traits, habits, and mindsets inherently found in addiction, which can be more fully discovered during a regression. Life is about balance. It will take time to figure out where we need to be in each life to learn the lesson we were meant to learn.
Sorry… she was probably your Mother many times before:
There are a few people in your life that will always reincarnate with you and another few that show up a lot. Some may be those you really do not like or get along with. They may even play the same role in some of those lives, whether you like it or not.
The Unexplainable Moments:
There are a few things we cannot explain that may happen during a regression session.
Strange feelings of heaviness all down one side of the body—phenomenon of this sort can be assumed to be injuries suffered by one of your past lives. If you suffered something unpleasantly painful, and it happened to come up in one of your past life memories it is unlikely you will physically feel it to that extent in your session. You may experience a physical sensation of pain or strange feeling in a part of your body as a sign or symbol of what happened to you in this memory you are recalling. Remember, you are completely safe, and if you are feeling severely uneasy, or in a lot of pain, I will make sure to care for you appropriately. Keep in mind though that this is rare and not something you need to worry about. I am here for your concerns and will provide a safe space when you need.
One Last Note:
Remember, past life regression therapy is not always enjoyable. A traumatic event may surface in your experience. It is how you use this memory that will help your understanding of who you are now and use it to grow. It is also quite a fascinating thing to delve into if it piques your curiosity, especially if you feel as if you have had some of these other life memories flood to the surface.
I can help you bring insight to who you are and help you explore the life / lives you have had formerly.
Reflexology
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a natural complementary therapy that uses a unique form of pressure point massage to stimulate “reflexes” on your feet or hands that reflect the body. Reflexology is used to help relieve stress and improve well-being.
Is Reflexology the same as a foot massage?
No. Reflexologists use a more precise, detailed technique to work on reflex points on the feet that reflect parts of the body.
Is Reflexology painful?
Your treatment will mainly feel soothing and calming. You will experience different sensations as your feet / hands as they are worked on, and some areas may be more sensitive than others. The pressure used on your feet / hands can be changed to suit your needs.
Clients’ say that their feet feel very light after a treatment – “like walking on air”.
Is Reflexology tickly?
No, clients are often surprised that having their feet worked on does not feel tickly.
How does reflexology work?
Reflexology will bring your body back into balance.
There are thousands of nerve endings in your feet / hands which correspond to and send messages about specific parts of the body to and from your brain.
Through reflexology, any blockages in nerve and / or blood supply can be released, and your circulation is boosted which enables your body to heal itself.
What health conditions can reflexology help with?
Reflexology is particularly beneficial for the relief of stress, tension and anxiety.
It also rebalances hormones, boosts your immune system, improves your sleep, flushes the body of toxins, and generally boosts energy levels.
But it can also do so much more. The list below are to name only a few:
Arthritis and joint pain
Digestive health
Fertility and pregnancy
Headaches and migraines
Muscle aches and pains
Stress and anxiety
Respiratory health
Women’s health
Sleep disorders and insomnia
How often should I have Reflexology?
The number of treatments you will need depends on your ailment or condition, how long you have had it and what you are hoping to achieve.
If you are focused on a specific health issue, I would recommend that you have sessions two weeks apart or even weekly for a month or two, then monthly as a maintenance programme.
If you are having treatments to promote general relaxation and health, then I would suggest one session a month.
However, the frequency of treatments are entirely up to you and your own personal preference. It might be once per week, once per month or even once per year.
How will I feel after my treatment?
Reflexology balances the body and promotes self-healing.
Most people feel the benefit both during and after their first treatment.
However, for more longstanding issues it may take a few treatments for you to notice the improvement in your wellbeing.
Reiki
How Does Reiki Work?
We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.
The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens, and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
How is a Reiki treatment given?
In a standard treatment Reiki energy flow from the practitioners’ hands into the client. The client is usually laying on a massage table, but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or even standing. The client remains fully clothed. The practitioner places her / his hands on or near the clients’ body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the clients’ needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position. The whole treatment usually lasts between 45 – 60 minutes.
Does one have to stop seeing a regular doctor or psychologist to receive a Reiki treatment?
No. Reiki works in conjunction with regular medical or psychological treatment. If one has a medical or psychological condition, it is recommended that one see a licensed health care professional in addition to receiving Reiki treatments. Reiki energy works in harmony with all other forms of healing, including drugs, surgery, psychological care, or any other method of alternative care and will improve the results.
What can I expect to feel during a reiki session?
During the session, you might notice a warming sensation in certain areas. In other areas, you might not notice anything at all. Even if you come in with a particular problem area, you may experience a sense of relaxation that affects your whole body. You might even fall asleep during the session!
How will I feel after a reiki session?
Every person who tries reiki has a different experience. Your experience from session to session can vary as well. Many people report feeling a sense of calm in their bodies. Others report reduced pain or a clearer mind. Some people say they notice old symptoms resurfacing in a sort of “healing reaction,” but those symptoms pass quickly.
Are there any side effects from a Reiki treatment?
Most of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment. However, sometimes a person will have what is called a ‘healing crisis’. As a person’s vibration goes up, toxins that have been stored in the body will be released into the blood stream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed from the system. When this happens, sometimes a person can get a headache or stomach-ache or feel weak. If this happens, it is a good idea to drink more water, eat lighter meals and get more rest. The body is cleansing as part of the healing process, so this is a good sign.
How Does Reiki Help People?
Reiki is a type of energy work that originated in Japan. It’s a simple method of light touch, or no touch, that is based on the Asian concept of ki or life energy. A session feels like a glowing radiance that flows through and around you. The experience is very soothing and results in the client entering a wonderful state of relaxation in which one’s worries and cares seem to melt away.
In a session the client lies fully clothed on a massage table while the practitioner gently places his or her hands in positions around the head and shoulders, the abdomen and the legs and feet. The hands can also be positioned an inch or so away from the body.
Its popularity is increasing, and a recent survey indicates that over a million people in the U.S. have received Reiki sessions. Its value is recognized by over 800 hospitals that offer it as a standard part of patient care. And rigorously designed scientific pilot studies have demonstrated its therapeutic effects.
The concept of ki or life energy has been recognized around the world since ancient times and goes by many names: in China it’s called chi, in Japan, ki, in India, Prana and science calls it biofield energy. This is an unseen energy that flows through all living things and directly affects the quality of health and one’s sense of well-being. When your life energy is low, you’ll feel weak and be more susceptible to stress and illness, will lack confidence and not think as clearly as you usually do. When your life energy is strong, you’ll feel strong, be sure of yourself, be more creative and resourceful, have clarity of purpose and feel good about yourself and about life.
The main thing that reduces life energy is stress, and yet our lives can contain stressful experiences. As an example, there is often stress at work or at home with one’s spouse or children. There can be stress about money and about illness or unexpected events or plans that simply don’t work out. And in fact, stress is a normal part of life. And because of this, people who live happy, healthy, and abundant lives aren’t people who don’t have stress in their lives; they are people who have learned to deal with stress in a healthy way. Reiki is a method of dealing effectively with stress, and its use can lead to living a happier, healthier, more abundant life.
By reducing stress, Reiki will improve your health, making it less likely that you’ll get sick. It can also promote the healing process and works well for simple things like headaches, stomach-aches, sprained ankles, bee stings and so forth, but can also work alongside regular medical care for more serious illnesses or conditions such as heart disease, cancer, and serious injury. Reiki has been known to reduce the negative effects of medical treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation, thus making it easier to follow through with prescribed medical treatment.
The following is a list of conditions and situations that Reiki has been known to help. However, keep in mind that for serious conditions or injuries, it’s important to seek medical care in addition to using Reiki:
Insomnia
Headache
Stomach-ache
Aches and pains
Sprained Ankle or Wrist
Sports Injuries
Not Feeling Good
Confidence
Creativity
Serious Illness or Injury
End of Life: Reiki has proven to be an effective part of the palliative care given to hospice patients. This can be a stressful time, often involving fear, regret, anger, and pain, not only for the patient, but for family members as well. Reiki can help release negative feelings and replace them with peace and acceptance, thus helping to make the loved one’s transition into the next life a more positive experience filled with love, compassion, and dignity.
Being able to offer Reiki is a wonderful skill since as we have seen, Reiki makes life’s difficulties easier to deal with. The above list is a sample of the many ways Reiki can be used to help yourself. One of the wonderful things about Reiki is it provides a way to help people regardless of the situation. There is something very healthy about doing this as it is a way to fulfill an important human need—the need to connect with others in a kind and caring way. May you always be blessed by love, joy and peace.
